A new book has come out entitled “Why Vegans Have Smaller Brains and How Cows Can Help the Environment” so I thought I’d share with you some quotes by some of the other idiots who endorsed a meat-free diet over the years:
“I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.”
― Leonardo Da Vinci
“Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.”
― Thomas A. Edison
“Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.”
― Albert Einstein
For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.”
― Pythagoras
“The Gods created certain kinds of beings to replenish our bodies; they are the trees and the plants and the seeds.”
― Plato
“A human body in no way resembles those that were born for ravenousness; it hath no hawk’s bill, no sharp talon, no roughness of teeth, no such strength of stomach or heat of digestion, as can be sufficient to convert or alter such heavy and fleshy fare.”
― Plutarch
“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.”
– Leo Tolstoy
“Kill neither men, nor beasts, nor yet the food which goes into your mouth. For if you eat living food, the same will quicken you, but if you kill your food, the dead food will kill you also. For life comes only from life, and from death always comes death”.
– Yeshua (AKA Jesus) in The Essene Gospel of Peace
In conclusion, vegans certainly do not have smaller brains, which isn’t even what the study they based this book title on even remotely indicates. What has been shown on brain scans though is that vegans and vegetarians have more active sections of the brain associated with empathy in response to both human and animal suffering. I personally would rather listen to some of the greatest minds of all time, rather than a few people desperate to make a quick buck from a provocative book title.
